2024 Qingdao Brand Day Activities Kick Off

The 2024 Qingdao Brand Day kicked off with a grand opening ceremony and a cutting-edge dialogue at the Qingdao International Conference Center (QICC) on the morning of July 17 where nearly 300 participants from public agencies, corporate entities, and various organizations and institutions gathered to explore brand development in the era of artificial intelligence with the advent of this year's Qingdao Brand Day series of activities.
This year's Qingdao Brand Day, themed "City and Brand: Growing Together" with the annual focus on "AI-Driven Smart Future," will run until July 21 with six major segments: Frontier Dialogues, New-Type Industrialization Innovation Forum, Golden Flower Brand Experience Exhibition, Practical Training Sessions, Exploration Activities, and Showcase Events.
Professor Yao Yang from the Peking University National School of Development and China Center for Economic Research (CCER) delivered a keynote speech on "New Quality Productive Forces and China's Economic Development Path" during the Frontier Dialogues segment of the event. Secretary of the CPC Hisense Group Chapter and Chairman of the Hisense Group Supervisory Board Liu Zhenshun, Chairman of Sailun Group Liu Yanhua, and Chief Brand Officer at UBTECH Robotics Tan Min each shared their insights on corporate brand-building strategies and practices.
The New-Type Industrialization Innovation Forum and the Golden Flower Brand Experience Exhibition held at the conference center's plaza attracted a steady stream of visitors. The New-Type Industrialization Innovation Forum, covering around 1,000 square meters, showcased companies such as Haier Kaos, Hisense City Cloud Brain, Digital Technology (SHGXSJ), Jindong Digital Creative, and Ainnovation Technology Group. The Golden Flower Brand Experience Exhibition, part of the "Shop Qingdao" consumption promotion campaign, spanned about 5,000 square meters and highlighted major Qingdao brands like Haier, Hisense, Qingdao Beer, Double Star, Aucma, along with emerging local brands.
This year's Qingdao Brand Day activities emphasize strong service, broad outreach, and deep engagement, presenting a new vision of the city and brand growing together. The event will feature a light show and drone display over Fushan Bay, adding a vibrant touch to Qingdao's summer nights. Additionally, a range of innovative interactive activities will be available, including a "holographic imaging chamber" where visitors can create and download their own AI-generated avatars and experience realistic surfing simulations using AI technology, capturing the spirit of Qingdao as China's Sailing City.
The 2024 Qingdao Brand Day series of activities are organized by the Qingdao Municipal People's Government and hosted by the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, the Municipal Bureau of Development and Reform Commission, the Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Municipal Bureau of Commerce, the Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and the Municipal Administration for Market Regulation.
Member of the Qingdao Municipal Standing Committee and Vice Mayor of Qingdao Wang Bo, with Deputy Director Zhang Jiangang of the Qingdao People's Congress Standing Committee, attended the launch ceremony.
