3. Rare Natural Disasters

Qingdao, a coastal hill city with its terrain sloping from higher elevations in the east to lower in the west, boasts an extensive coastline stretching 863 kilometers. Benefiting from favorable flood discharge conditions and lacking medium and large rivers or lakes within its territory, the city experiences moderate rainfall. Consequently, Qingdao is rarely affected by flood disasters, and when they do occur, their impact is minimal.

Despite being a coastal city, Qingdao experiences minimal impact from typhoons. Its northern location shields it from severe disasters typically caused by typhoons originating from Southeast Asia and the southern seas.

Due to its favorable geographical location and natural conditions, Qingdao rarely experiences extreme weather conditions such as intense heat, severe cold, or storms. The winters are relatively dry, with limited snowy days and minimal snowfall, which seldom have a substantial impact on daily life and production.
